The highest mountain in the Hidaka area with secret garden.
The peak of Mt. Horoshiri or called Poroshiri is at an altitude of 2,052m.
“Poro” means “large” and “Shiri” means “mountain” in the Ainu language.
The mountain has rich flora, fauna and diverse habitat. At the Kar (cirque) near the peak, the landscape will become to look like huge flower garden with wild alpine plants every summer. The view of Hidaka Mountains from the Mt. Horoshiri’s peak is also attracting climbers.
